Inter Milan will reportedly not sign a new midfielder even if out-of-favor Davide Frattesi were to leave the club.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio via FCInter1908, the Serie A leaders remain focused on adding a new wingback this winter.

With Denzel Dumfries unlikely to return to action until late February, Inter must reinforce the right wing.

Indeed, Luis Henrique has failed to live up to his €25 million price tag.

Meanwhile, Matteo Darmian is still lacking match fitness, having only recently recovered from a long-term injury.

Inter are scouring the market for a new wingback to fill the void.

In the meantime, Frattesi’s future at San Siro is hanging by a thread after the Italian star lost his first-team status under Cristian Chivu.

Despite his rough patch, the 26-year-old remains one of the most coveted Serie A midfielders.

However, Chivu’s charges are reluctant to sell their unsettled midfielder to direct Scudetto competitors.

On the other hand, Galatasaray have pulled the plug on their pursuit of the former Sassuolo man.

Yet, even if Frattesi ends up leaving San Siro, Inter will not sign a replacement.
