Inter Milan could reportedly offer veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan a new deal at the end of the season.
According to Calciomercato via FCInter1908, this might not be the Armenian’s last season at San Siro.
Mkhitaryan’s contract runs out in June, with the club yet to make contact with the player’s agent.
Indeed, the 37-year-old is one of the five Nerazzurri stars with expiring contracts.
Stefan de Vrij, Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, and Yann Sommer are the remaining four.
However, their fates at Giuseppe Meazza appear to be sealed, with the Nerazzurri reluctant to offer them fresh terms.
Inter Milan to Offer Henrikh Mkhitaryan New Contract

Despite being in the autumn of his career, Henrikh Mkhitaryan remains a valuable asset for the Nerazzurri.
Indeed, Cristian Chivu has heavily relied on the former Manchester United and Roma star this season.
For context, Mkhitaryan has amassed 22 appearances in all competitions, racking up one goal and two assists.
Therefore, Inter are reportedly contemplating handing the experienced midfielder a short-term contract at the end of the season.

Offering Henrikh Mkhitaryan a new deal would be a very wise and important decision. His experience, tactical intelligence, and consistency continue to be invaluable for the team, both on and off the pitch. Keeping him would ensure stability and leadership in midfield and harmony at Inter.

No point in offering new contract, we’ll have Barella, Sucic, Zielinski, Hakan, Diouf, probably both Akinsanmiro and Stankovic. Even if Hakan decides to leave better to give minutes to youngsters like Bovo and Topalovic. We’ll need proper defensive midfielder, but considering how cheap management is, arrival of Kone is not happening, maybe the best free option would be 23-year old Martel from Koln.
He is still balling. Would be good to see him for another year.
he will be our biggest reinforcement in the summer
Mikhi should stay for another season. He is a good rotation option. In the summer we will need to buy Akanji, 1 or 2 CBs, 1 RWB, 1 GK, Stankovic. We can’t buy someone to replace Mikhi too at the same time.
Who says we will be using the same formation. We need different profiles for this team to become a lot less predictable. I think Chivu and the president will address this in the summer.
Good point. I’d be really surprised if they abandon the 3 man defense but I could see a 3-4-3 or 3-4-1-2 next year, especially against small teams.
Zielinski, Susic, Barella, Calha could all play in a double pivot, allowing another forward- Bonny or another dribbler
we have 30mlns left from last summer, also Oaktree usually give us 50mlns budget for transfers. If we take 20mls for Dumfries and 30mlns for Fratessi. This is already 130mlns for transfers. I also think that if someone offer us 50+mlns for Thuram we will sell, because all will be capital gain and we can spend alot after that transfer. And if Hakan doesnt sign new contract, he will be sold too! There is alot of work to be done in the summer, sadly looking at our work in past transfer windows , I am not optimistic, you cant change half team at once and expect to win the league….
Haha, that’s a joke. But coming from this board, I’m not very surprised. Mikhy can barely stand being on the field. His time at Inter is over. It’s amazing how difficult it is for Marotta and Ausilio to get rid of former players. And then there are those who complain about those who criticize their work.
Told yall this would happen, turns out I was right hahahaha. What a laughing stock we’ve become!!! MAROTTA AND AUSILIO OUT!!!
may be it’s not so much Marotta and Ausilio as it is the ownership, they simply don’t want to spend and that has become clear now. We needed 1-2 good players this winter transfer window to remain competitive and they decided not to bring in anyone. Should we not win the league it will be solely on them
That is all on paper. Our management will never achieve those figures when selling players. Anyways will end up spending half of the money that we will receive and that’s only if someone leaves and frees up a space in the squad.
I agree with your last point about the rebuilt. They should have started that already last summer.
As for Mikhi I thank him for his services but it’s time to move on.
