Inter Milan boss Cristian Chivu was keen to find a suitable alternative to Denzel Dumfries in January but ended up empty-handed.
According to Corriere dello Sport via FCInterNews, Chivu is now desperate to welcome the Dutchman back from injury as soon as possible.
Denzel Dumfries has been on the sidelines since the start of November.
Indeed, the 29-year-old suffered a nasty ankle injury in Inter’s 2-0 home win over Lazio, forcing him to undergo surgery in December.
However, the former PSV Eindhoven star could return to action later this month.
Inter Milan Boss Cristian Chivu to Rely on Dumfries After Uneventful Transfer Window

Al-Ittihad’s Moussa Diaby and PSV’s Ivan Perisic were Inter’s top priorities in the winter transfer window.
Despite making valiant attempts to sign both players, Inter failed to agree terms with their clubs.
Furthermore, they were looking to lure Brooke Norton-Cuffy away from Genoa, but will likely have to try again in the summer.
Therefore, Chivu cannot wait for Dumfries’ return to the pitch.
In the meantime, veteran defender Matteo Darmian has regained full fitness after a lengthy layoff.
