Ahead of Sundays derby against Milan, yesterday’s practice at Inter’s training ground in Appiano Gentile was not too hard with Nerazzurri coach Luciano Spalletti trying out a few different formations, both on the pitch and during the tactical video session.

Rome based newspaper Corriere dello Sport reports on the latest tactical decisions Inter coach Luciano Spalletti will have to make before the derby: “Of course, Spalletti will not change the tactical formation, in attack Inter will play a 4-2-3-1 and for the defensive phase the team will transform into a kind of 4-4-1-1 lineup.”

According to the report Spalletti is yet to make his mind up on two positions in the starting line-up: “Both Vrsaljko and D’Ambrosio, who are fully recovered after missing out playing with their respective national teams during the international break, are competing for a starting position on the right side of defense. Gagliardini, who will not be available in the Champions League clash against Barcelona, is in pole position to start ahead of Matias Vecino who is not in top form but is available against Barcelona. Finally there is a head-to-head competition between Politano and Candreva for the right winger position behind Icardi.”
