Tonight Inter will have to achieve a great result in order to be able to move on to the knock-out stage of the Champions League and it all starts from the defense, who will be tested tonight.
At least according to Rome based Corriere dello Sport who reports in today’s newspaper edition of the paper that “This season Inter have had a couple of bad results in the first two rounds of the Serie A together with the performance at Bergamo, but with Skriniar and De Vrij as the central defense, Spalletti has found the right structure, Saturday night the two were like robots and many consider the duo to be the best in the Serie A at the moment.”
The Corriere continues that: “Also tonight everything points to the two getting a place in the starting lineup, but also Miranda is hoping for the nod although De Vrij still has the advantage but it has not been ruled out that the Brazilian could play together with Skriniar and De Vrij. In fact, Spalletti has not yet decided whether or not to play with a three man defense, where Politano and Asamoah take the wings, Vecino and Brozovic the middle and Nainggolan and Perisic play behind Icardi.”
Here is the probable lineup against Tottenham:
Inter (4-2-3-1): Handanovic; D’Ambrosio, De Vrij, Skriniar, Asamoah; Vecino, Brozovic; Politano, Nainggolan, Perisic; Icardi.
