Turin based newspaper Tuttosport have focused in on Ivan Perisic’s bad run of form at the moment and the fact that despite the below-par performances from him lately, Inter coach Luciano Spalletti does not want to give up on him.

“He especially does not wish to give up on him when Inter have two difficult challenges ahead of them against Juventus and PSV. It is also true that Perisic’s replacement, Keita Baldé, has scored three goals in the last two games and it will be difficult to keep him out of the starting eleven.

“Inter is appreciating Keita’s growth for the fact that in the Summer, they will have to decide whether or not to redeem the player, owned by Monaco, for €34 million. A very high figure and up until only a few games ago did it look unlikely that Inter would take that option. That is something that could now change, partly driven by the recent poor performances of Perisic.

“In addition to that, Perisic has opened up to a goodbye before and after the game against Tottenham. Inter needs Perisic to return to his previous because at the moment he is not worth the €50 million that Inter wants to sell him for. Something needs to change in order for Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Atletico Madrid to be willing to pay the amount that would leave Inter with a capital gain on the deal, something that would enable the club to redeem Keita from Monaco. That is as long as the Senegalese confirms his rebirth during the rest of the season.”
