After a bitter elimination from the Champions League Inter coach Luciano Spalletti analysed the game against PSV Eindhoven with Inter TV.

“We immediately looked for a strong start and lost a bit of structure on the pitch, also a few too many lost balls. We did not manage the game as we should have. During the second half everything looked better, also during the final stage of the game but we just did not manage to score at the end.

“Getting behind created a situation of discomfort  and the play became frantic, something that always benefits the weaker team. We complicated our life with distractions and lightness and did less than what we had to do, but the reaction at the end should have resulted in something because we had a lot of chances. At the end we lacked a bit of maturity in how we handled the ball.”

He concluded by looking ahead to the Europa League.

“The Europa League? We have to face that with the same mentality as always, trying to commit less errors and trying to behave like a team at our level. That means managing the ball, letting our opponents run and wait for the right moment. The season remains the same, we have to continue in the same way that we started it, keeping the tension high in order to get the results that we want right away. This reaction will tell if we have matured or not.”
