Inter Milan’s impregnable defense away from home, strength in depth, and in-form strikers separate them from their Serie A rivals.

This is the view in today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInter1908.

Inter showed against Torino that they are not going to let some setbacks before the international break derail their Serie A title charge.

The Nerazzurri had looked favourites before some frustrating dropped points against Sassuolo and Bologna. Then, the doubts started to creep in.

But against Torino, La Repubblica argue, Inter gave a demonstration that they genuinely are on another level. At least in a few key respects.

Three Key Qualities Mark Inter Out From Serie A Rivals

The first thing that La Repubblica note is that Inter still haven’t conceded a goal away from home.

The Nerazzurri kept another clean sheet yesterday.

Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij and Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer both had strong matches to keep the Granata quiet. And Inter defended well as a unit when they had to.

This has become par for the course this season.

The Nerazzurri have not looked intimidated or crumbled under the atmosphere of tough away stadiums.

They have held their ground and quieted the fans, not allowing opposition teams to build up a head of steam.

Then, there has been the Nerazzurri’s strength in depth.

Inter’s starting eleven didn’t quite get the job done yesterday. But once the substitutions entered the pitch, the story was different.

The fact that players like Denzel Dumfries, Carlos Augusto, and Davide Frattesi are available as substitutes certainly gives Inter the ability to find solutions when things aren’t quite going their way.

And last of all, La Repubblica argue, is the quality and consistency of Inter’s two main strikers.

The Nerazzurri have a real strike pair in the form of Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram.

Both of the pair have started the season in blistering form. And this has meant a level of consistent threat in front of goal that no other team in the Italian top flight can quite boast.
