Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta updates that every Inter Milan player has expressed the desire to extend their contracts.

The Inter executive spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, ahead of this evening’s match against Red Bull Salzburg. He also credited Nerazzurri Sporting Director with the signing of striker Marcus Thuram during the summer.

There are a number of players whose contract situations at Inter are not altogether certain.

First of all, there are players whose deals run out at the end of next June.

Veterans like Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Matteo Darmian’s current deals only run until the end of the current season.

Therefore, if Inter want to keep hold of these players, they will have to agree contract extensions.

Then, there are players whose deals run somewhat longer. However, in some of these cases the Nerazzurri will feel that it would be better to not wait too long in extending their deals.

The likes of Lautaro Martinez and Federico Dimarco, for example, are under contract until the end of June 2026. Both signed their current deals in the fall of 2021.

And Denzel Dumfries’s deal runs until the end of June 2025.

These players are important part of Inter’s starting eleven. Therefore, the Nerazzurri will hardly want to let them get much closer to the expiration of their current deals without clarifying their futures.

Marotta Updates On Inter Contract Situations

Inter CEO Marotta stated that “All the players in the squad have expressed their intention to extend their experience with us.”

“That means that the club is once again strong, and that there are many who want to be here,” the executive said.

“It’s obvious that, even though these have to be confidential, we’re in discussions with a number of agents to ensure that the team is solid and lasts a long time, including in terms of the players’ contracts.”

As far as how Inter signed striker Thuram, Marotta was full of praise for his fellow executives. Particular Sporting Director Ausilio.

“Off the pitch, Ausilio, Baccin, and Zanetti are a good team,” he said.

“We’re united, we have a good strategy. There’s logic behind the negotiations that we participate in.”

“Thuram was a great intuition from Ausilio,” Mrotta said.

“We’ve been following him for a long time. But then an injury kept him off the pitch for a bit. But today we’re proud to have made such a great signing.”

And as far as whether the Champions League is a distraction or a drain on energy, Marotta feels that that’s the wrong way to look at it.

“Playing in a competition that gives the team prestige and energy is a positive,” the CEO said.

“The important thing is that we manage having this kind of a fixture list, including psychologically.”
