The agent of striker Lautaro Martinez is expecting a contract extension offer from Inter Milan in the near future.
Speaking to Italian news outlet FCInter1908, Martinez’s agent Alejandro Camano also made clear that while the 25-year-old has received some other offers, he has also rejected them out of hand.
As things stand, Martinez’s contract with Inter runs out at the end of June 2026.
The former Racing Club striker signed his current deal during the fall of 2021.
However, Inter are already ready to start thinking well into the future. Martinez is a player who the club see as part of the foundation of the team for many seasons to come.
The Argentine’s performances over the past couple of seasons have only grown in quality. Therefore, the Nerazzurri are prepared to tie down his future with a new long-term deal.
Moreover, it is not as though there is not interest in taking Martinez away from Inter. Premier League giants Arsenal, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur have all targeted the Nerazzurri striker in the recent past.
Given that Martinez will also captain Inter next season, however, his importance to the club is greater than ever
Therefore, it seems very likely that the Nerazzurri will aim to extend his deal. This would both keep the Argentine content at the club to ward off interest, and reflect his status within the team.
Agent Of Lautaro Martinez: Expecting Inter Milan Contract Extension Offer
Camano noted that “Inter are continuing to develop their project, and Lautaro certainly deserves a prominent place in it.”
He noted that “Our relationship with Inter is excellent.”
“We have to work together to give Lauti the recognition he deserves as one of the top players in the world.”
The agent then made clear that “At the moment, the club hasn’t called me. But I think they will, because we all want the best for a top player like Lautaro.”
“Inter are making a big effort to refresh their squad, and they’ll also want to get the best out of world-class players like Lautaro.”
“So yes, I expect that they’ll call us,” Camano added.
And of the interest in Martinez, the agent said that “There have been offers, but Lauti didn’t want to listen.”
“He’s not the kind of player to put pressure on his club by bringing forward other offers,” he continues.
Mano made clear that “Lautaro is happy at Inter. He’s happy in Milan.”
“He’s about to become a father for the second time and his two children will be born in Milan, the city where he and his family are growing.”
Camano also noted that “Inter have recognized him by making him captain, and he’s very happy about that.”
