Cristian Chivu reportedly believes that he can mend the rift between Hakan Calhanoglu and Lautaro Martinez in the Inter Milan dressing room.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
It is now looking as though Hakan Calhanoglu will stay at Inter Milan.
Turkish giants Galatasaray have been preparing to try and sign the midfielder for weeks. That has hardly been a secret.
However, Galatasaray lack the necessary financial resources to move for Calhanoglu due to their efforts to sign Victor Osimhen on a permanent basis from Napoli.
Therefore, it now looks very improbable that Galatasaray will be able to agree a deal with Inter.
Chivu Believes He Can Mend Calhanoglu Lautaro Rift At Inter

In the meantime, the constant transfer rumours concerning Calhanoglu have caused tensions behind the scenes at Inter.
The Argentine made comments to the media after Inter’s exit from the Club World Cup against Fluminense. He declared that “whoever wants to leave, leave.”
Then, Calhanoglu responded with harsh words of his own. He called Martinez’s comments “divisive.”
Clearly, this is not an ideal situation for Inter to have lingering in the dressing room.
However, according to the Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter coach Cristian Chivu believes that he can deal with this.
The Romanian is certainly facing a crisis that could define how he begins his stint as Inter coach.
But the Gazzetta report that Chivu is confident he can navigate it and get the two senior players back on the same page.
