After five league games under Roberto Mancini, we are left with five points out of a possible fifteen, one win against Chievo Verona, two draws against Lazio and Milan and two losses against Roma and Udinese. Now let’s be frank, most of the complaints about errors in the games come from a time before he was appointed, as I didn’t see till now people who have already flippantly changed their minds after just a few weeks and those who were against him are still at their stance.
We used to get a few wins with every coaching change in the past few years, I mean look at Stramaccioni’s start, Ranieri’s or even Benitez, they all did well at the beginning, just to disappoint all of us later on with a string of defeats and unusual performances, but things are different now, Mancio didn’t start well, actually before he arrived we had a winning percentage of 36%, that decreased now to a whopping 20%, but then, as a counter argument, what can we expect for only a few day’s training?
The question now, is it fair to start criticizing Roberto Mancini? No? When would the time come then? The annoying thing regarding this season is that we had already played our easy games under Mazzarri, giving away points like it was a Christmas giveaway, games like Torino, Parma, Cagliara, Palermo and Hellas Verona could have easily pumped us into third place with a good space between fourth, now we have Juventus and Genoa next, one would love a 6 points here, but I think this is beyond our scope.
Let’s also not forget the transition from 3-Man to a 4-Man defence at the back, we are yet to find our best centre-back pairing, We should be careful about being too critical on a manager who has clearly inherited a very bad situation, but at the same time, we do also need to realise this with the fact that we are in a competitive environment and ultimately there are no excuses for failure. It will be interesting to see how much patience Inter fans have for Roberto Mancini, especially when we consider the great things he did at Inter last time he was here, and whether that buys him any favour or not.

His only mistake is not substituting before 90th minute, he’s a tactical genius who can switch the game, but he isn’t using that.
You can see the difference already in the way the team plays. They’ve already passed the eye test, and you can see the change in mentality already. Against Lazio, instead of putting their heads down and conceding defeat after going down by 2 goals they pressed harder and equalized, and even came THIS close to winning the game at the end.
The people who criticize Mancini after some few weeks definitely ain’t got a clue. As you said Mazzarri’s team lost points against some easiest teams while Mancio had to face the toughest teams at the start. Besides, the squad is not even his. And the quality of the squad in several positions is significantly low. The likes of Guarin, Nagatomo, Dodo, Kuzmanovic, Palacio… you could not really expect much from such players. I hope this January we see some of these names offloaded while the quality is added to the team. Mancini’s winning mentality will do us good in an extended time. I’m sure of that. The improvements are obvious in the team in such a short time that Mancio has taken the team. Only a blind or someone with an agenda fail to see that.
The only things that i can criticize Mancini are that he played too safe, satisfies with the draw wich is relegated team mindset, instead of taking some risk seeking for the victory. Other thing is that for now he can’t use substitutions properly when is needed to change the game. But nobody’s perfect and it’s still too early to judge him.
Anyone can see the growth in the team, mazzari brought in players to fit his unchanging formation, and now mancio doesnt have the players that fit his ideas… the mercato in january will be very decisive to the teams future
He has been working fabulously well in turning the dead and buried players to those who fight for the shirt.
He has the charisma and a great deal of tactical awareness.
So I think not only he will bring our team back to a winning cycle, but also he would stay here for a long time.
The difference between Mazzarri and Mancini is that you couldn’t see lines in the attacking or defending part under Mazzarri and every player played for them self! Now under Mancini you can see the lines in the defense and attack even if the result have been against us! And the most important thing is that the player is starting to run for each other and not for them self!!
it is so funny to see that NOW everyone just realize how terrible the roster we had and that the real problem in the team is the players hohohoho. i wonder how much hate mancini will get once the honey moon period is over and will this people around accept a cliche reason such as the board didn’t give the coach what he wanted
You can not by any means compare the winnings ranieri or even Benitez got at their beginning with inter against Mancini record with the current team.. I mean are you comparing our treble winning players (who were fully equipped for a four man defence). Samuel Maicon stankovic sneijder Cambiasoo Eto milito..etc to our current team.. Look to my opinion Mr. Marwan the team we have now even mourinho wouldn’t be able to do much with.. Meaning we need players who have a footballing iq, in addition to their ability to pass, be creative, defend and score .. To be honest I think the person we need to look at more closely is inters directors and the players we need to bring for this Mercato and we need to move much more quicker.. What’s the harm of getting players earlier like milan are currently doing with cerci..
I think the favor of Mancini’s past successes will turn all of the fans’ eyes towards the team (which are the core problem if you ask me). Then they will see that with few changes in the team, especially the wingers, then we will be in a much better situation that we’re currently in. We’ll see how that goes.
Let’s hope this Mercato bode well for us. With a few changes here and there, we’ll get competitive again. We need to get rid of Guarin, if he moves out and brings in good money, Inter will move in the market. Sad but true.
