Xherdan Shaqiri answers to criticism for his move to Stoke, judged by experts as a step backwards in his career that saw him wear the shirts of Inter and Bayern Munich. The Swiss, playing as a starter in the last match won 2-1 against Bournemouth, reiterates in an interview with fifa.com that he has “arrived in the best league in the world” and draws comparisons with Inter: “It is true that Stoke doesn’t have the same international reputation, but the club is pursuing ambitious goals. They want to establish themselves in Europe and that’s what tempted me here. Stoke are offering me the opportunity to continue developing both as a player and as a person. Above all I want to play, perfect my game and move forward with the team.”
And the real difference between the Serie A and the Premier League the number 22 of Potters clarifies: “Football in Italy was very tactically oriented, and now here in England I can sense a real emphasis on attacking play. The football here is tough and spectacular, and I’m enjoying it. Although I’ve only played a few matches in the Premier League so far, I feel I’ve arrived in the best league in the world.”

Wow…anyone saw this Imbula guy play against Chelsea….damn we missed a gem here…Kondog-Melo-Imbula might deadly!
Nah,he is average, 20 mil is overpriced for him,but it is not porto money,it is doyen sports money
Time will tell if Inte rwill regret for Shaqiri – Perishic swap.
Considered how inter treat Shaq, im impressed that he never talk shit about inter. Good Lad.
Agreed
maybe shaq wasn’t the best player at the team.. but i honestly feel that we should’ve kept (if we didn’t need the money) since he has something that only few of our players has.. Speed and Control…
but in any case.. i know many are criticizing Pericis but I believe we got a player that we need (even though he is not performing up to his level until now) for a player that we might occasionally use.
in any case.. hope to bounce back against samp with convincing performance before Jube game..
Since I am very talkative today.. Mancini please no more 3-5-2
the best league in the world??? haha he has good sense of humor
you have to admit man EPL is a strong league.. I would’ve laughed too if he was talking about the Liga for example.. but the EPL.. they are the strongest at least in the recent years
they’re joke when it comes to UCL or EL even la liga is better than shit overrated bpl
I agree UCL and EL have been and still are being dominated by La Liga (hopefully not for long).. however, I think there’s a big difference when it comes to league itself. as I said earlier maybe my answer a a bit subjective but here it is any way.. La Liga matches are %99 predictable and the game play I’m not really a fan of.. while EPL are the exact opposite.. in any case.. I think both of our opinions are very subjective due to one reason or another..
La ligas teams keep competing for every europen league there is… barca and madrid dominating the league doesn’t mean much when they dominate all of Europe and have the best two players in the world. The fact that last year europe final and champions league final had two spanish teams should tell you something.
No one can deny the fact that La Liga teams have dominated both UCL and EL since 2005.. this is why my answer maybe is more subjective due to the fact that I hate both Barca and Real and maybe I am more Nostalgic especially when thinking of the days when football was more that just Messi and Ronaldo.
There hasn’t been an English team past the quarter finals of the Champions league the past 2 years…
what are the top 3 leagues in your opinion? regardless of the CL or EL performances
Well I think unless you’ve personally played/coached in a variety of the top leagues, the only ‘barometer’ for us non professionals is the European comps. I get that it’s not a reflection of the whole of each league but it certainly gives you an idea. The only other way to judge it, from a non professional point of view, is entertainment value but I only support Inter, so from that point of view Serie A is the Best. After that I don’t think there’s much in it between spain/England/Germany but my opinion is based on results from the European comps…..Apologies for not giving you a straight answer but I guess I’m not in a position to as I only really pay attention to Serie A and more specifically Inter…..What about you? Which 3 would you say? (BTW Are you English?)…
Exactly our (barometer) to measure which are the successful teams are the CL and EL results.. however how hard is it to win the local league and what is more important how entertaining are a totally different issue.. and this is what I am pointing out
for me I rate them based on the entertainment value..
1- Serie A of course not only because of Inter.. I also love it when I watch Jube lose
2- EPL because I find their style of play is entertaining even though i don’t support any team there (maybe Chelsea because Moe only)
3- Bundesliga just because I hate Spanish Liga
Yes I must admit I love watching rube lose too lol! But we’ve got to concede to the fact that our opinions are some what biased, however, you do make an interesting point about la liga despite there domination in Europe. On a kind of separate note……I’m watching Porto Chelsea and I was delighted in hearing the English commentators worry about loosing there 4th champions league spot to Italy! I wonder how likely that is? Shame Roma are loosing tonight….
Yeah, but serie a had many scandals so those scandals make people not trust the league, match fixing scandals really distrust people to watch serie a
is not a strong but a overrated league, supported by huge investments-
I agree that it might not be as strong as it is portrayed.. but still being supported by investments doesn’t come from nothing..
At least it is a competitive league and the gap of small team and big team is little
it just competitive not the best in the world look at the UCL result they’re weak in europe competitions
What a shit player we get to replace Shaq and we pay 20 milion for this mediocre croatian clown. What a shame..
..
Perisic is better than Shaq, just give him time. As a dortmund fan I wish we still had him.
Too early to judge him yet. Ince was a classic example – took him 6 months to adapt to serie a but then was a monster for us!
he was better than perisic….
Edit: He is better than perisic.
No he isn’t. Shaqiri is very overrated. He isn’t even good at stoke
Yeah man, i watched stoke too and shaqiri played like shit, but as you know,no need to discuss or argue with shaqiri fanboy because for them the player that on par with him is messk, lollll
Stoke has less prestige than inter, but …you can’t improve even there
