According to TyCSports journalist Esteban Edul in Argentina Inter have beaten Chelsea in the race to sign Jonathan Calleri. Inter had first made an offer of 10 million euros, but when Chelsea got involved the nerazzurri managed to close a deal with Boca Juniors for 12 million. The Boca Juniors directors are said to be happy with the fee and are ready to accept.
If Calleri leaves then Boca will replace him with Pablo Daniel Osvaldo. It is not just the journalist Edul that says Inter are very close to the striker, Boca vice president Royco Ferrari writes to aRadio ESPN FC; “There is a serious offer for Calleri. But we will try to keep him to be able to compete for the victory in the Copa Libertadores.”

I´d like to see more good dribblers in our team. I actually would have liked our management to gamble on the forgotten man, Alexandre Pato. He could come to Europe maybe for 10-15mil, his form seems to be good in Brazil, he can play also on the wing in 4-3-3, and he hasn´t been injured for quite a while. That transfer would piss off Berlusconi too.
Pato said he prefers a move to EPL or La Liga. In fact, he is already on Man Utd and Loserfool’s list. Better not to compete with them since it would cost a lot of money.
I would suggest Andre Carrillo from Sporting lisbon. His speedy dribbling and strengths reminds me of CR7 and his contract is expiring. He was the king of assists in Portugal league last year.
Okay. I was only thinking Pato could be good addition for our roster if he happened to be cheap. If he´s really expensive, my argument for signing him is pretty pointless. At least Calleri will probably have low salary, so in that sense he is quite cheap rotation player for our attack.who won´t whine being a substitute.
think Ljajic can become the key of this dude too ?
I read that we will not be able to play him currently with all our non european player slots filled. If we fail to do so he may be loaned out in serie a for 6 months. We will have to get rid of nagatomo, loan gnoukouri, maybe sell or terminate dodo loan if possible, sell jj or loan, or sell guarin or sell icardi or palacio. Ideally I feel we could make a trade of some sort and send them palacio to replace with calleri
I’ve read somewere that this dude would get EU passport which would allow him to play, don’t know how really but i think his agent spoke about it..
That is great if it happens but to be honest this is a really smart decision by us. We spent roughly the same on icardi 3 years ago. All things considered the price is very cheap. We can pretty much sell rano or guarin for that amount. Not to mention the 10 million we are owed by sunderland coming in soon. Ausilio is already working his magic and it is not even an open mercato yet 🙂
Icardi and palacio have eu passports..
okay. we are still maxed on non eu players though….Read up

This news came out of the blue (and yellow).
We won’t buy player unless someone leave, Ausilio says. That’s why I have feeling Icardi will leave
I’m surprised at how many people in these comments think 12MM is a lot for this dude. He’s only 22! If he’s got any potential at all, that’s a pretty good deal IMO.
€12m is way too much IMO. This is a gamble that couldn’t bring us the next Botta, except we waste €12m this time. We can get some quality players for such money.
yes it’s a gamble.. but when you are building a team you need a combination of experienced and young talents.. not we don’t have Real’s or Man Utd’s money to pay for and established young talent.. this is why a gamble is part of our game.. otherwise we’ll be stuck with mediocre established player
IMO we need experience when we try to push for CL. Once we are established as a strong club again, then can we try to gamble and get a next superstar. While climbing this money could be used much better on already proven player. Young talents like him are not able to provide much right now when we are making the crucial push. In such times you need leaders and experienced players to carry you upwards and once you are rooted upwards like Juventus over the last few years, then you can go and try to find a next super star since you already got an established team.
experienced players might have instant impact but the are very short in terms of their effect.. and once they expire we have to rebuild again and face a possible crisis similar to 2010 or Man U’s 2013.. having a combination of young talents and experienced players is crucial to sustainable and consistent results and at the same time okaying both talents and experienced side by side will affect the development of the our youngsters.. i understand where are you coming from.. but unfortunately rebuilding will take time and finding the right balance is a key to our success.. when it comes to building teams i can confidently say that I fully trust Mancini
“having a combination of young talents and experienced players is crucial to sustainable and consistent results” I agree but we have loads of future talents and I stick by my opinion that we would benefit more from an experienced player like Miranda right now rather than Calleri.
well regardless of the differences.. we agree at least on one thing.. we both want Inter to kick ass.. Forza Inter..
my exact thought. are we seriously going to spend 12m on a sub striker. or is icardi related to this transfer?! very strange.
The guy you have as a picture was a big gamble too!!! I remember very well how everyone thought it was a waste of 8 million!! Gamble is part of the game and right now Ausilio is doing just perfectly great
I disagree. Murillo already had a great season in La Liga , one of the if not the strongest leagues and cost us a third less than Calleri’s proposed transfer. Not to mention that Murillo played with a rather shit team in La Liga and managed to do great while Calleri is playing with Tevez in a much easier league. I’m not saying Calleri couldn’t turn out great for us, but its a big gamble to make for such money especially when we might sell some of our big names just to recover money.
The difference in both price tags is 4 million. So please, it’s not like it is 40 million more for calleri. Plus murillo was never that good with Granada and many were saying that his transfer was very weird until he showed his true potential in Copa America. Both are gambles but the fact that calleri has so many clubs interested in him is a good sign, whearas murillo was so unknown to be honest.
Agree to disagree.
Yeah but he isn’t proven, not a great league and we are paying a lot of money for a kid who hasn’t played for Argentina before whereas Murillo already had been playing for Colombia, therefore we knew he has the ability to kick it in the top leagues.
Long time without any Argentinian coming to Inter…
this is a very strange transfer. surly we wont pay 12m for a striker sub.
Right, such big gamble for us.
Maybe icardi will leave
I just hope he’s not a product of playing next to Tevez all season, Carlitos has a tendency to make his strike partner play above and beyond their own abilities, especially young strikers (see example: Morata – Juventus)
What do you mean by playing abobe and beyond abilities?
he means that Tevez is very helpful to his striker partner (e.g. Morata) so Morata can play better than his days at Madrid and looks like a top striker.
Rachmat explained it perfectly, another example you might be more familair with as an Interista was Eto’o with Pazzini, Eto’o was truly world class and thru his great play brought Pazzini close to his level, when realistically Pazzo is a slighlty above average striker
Yep.or cassano and pazzo.
Yes I wish we resign cassano in the winter to boost creativity.
Unfortunately, I think Cassano is too far past his prime to help Inter in any legitimate way. If he can’t manage to help a struggling Sampdoria, I doubt he’ll add anything to this Inter side
this comment is hilarious.
Yeah,i didnt even know what did he mean
He meant Carlos Tevez always make his partner looked better.
LOL..
He’s your typical target man. Not just Carlitos made him play well. He’s proven he can score goals given the opportunity. But 12 mil for a substitute is fishy to me. We need someone with Icardi’s capabilities, sure. But I’m beginning to think we’re buying a starter. New headlines from England today say that Man City is ready to pay 40m. for Mauro in the summer. I hope it’s bs.
According to Nebuloni he’s coming to replace Palacio in June.Di Marzio tweeted earlier today that he’s probably going to Bologna for 6 months and then he joins us.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind selling Icardi, but not in January. It’d be far too difficult to find an adequate replacement, but waiting until the summer could also see his value drop if he continues to under perform. There are plenty of good options out there at the striker position, especially if we fetch €40 million for Icardi we can afford to buy top class talent. My personal favorites are Lacazette, Cavani, hell maybe even Ibrahimovic, but that’s mostly wishful thinking! I also really like Embolo from Basel who is very young, but has tremendous potential and reminds me a lot of a young Balotelli, but hopefully with a better head on his shoulders
I believe in Maurito. He has more talent than Cavani and can become better. But he has to swallow his giant ego, understand he’s not the most important player in the squad anymore and start playing as a team member. Move more, pass more, help create chances more instead of trying to just execute the finishing blow. Then if he clicks with Jojo, Ljajic and/or Perisic, we can have the deadliest attack in Serie A.
That’s why I’d like to give him ’til the end of the season, if by then he hasn’t shown signs of improvement in the areas you’ve listed I’d certainly favor selling him. He’d only be holding Inter back at that point because we don’t have enough talent to accommodate a player that has one-dimensional contribution, no matter how good they are at that one thing. That is of course unless we plan on spending massive amounts of money on 2 or 3 world class talents, in which case Icardi may be able to get away with his current style of play, but I’m still not completely sure what Inter’s transfer budget restraints are…
but he was already a thing before Tevez back to Boca, so I guess it’s fair Inter and Chelsea want him.

Anyone know if he’s any good?
He’s good on youtube 🙂
But then again, Ranocchia looks like a total beast there too.
Froggy is a god on there lol
this reminded me of how good botta and jonathan :-/
he’s from boca junior smh not from mexican league , he’s on different level
Some Argentinian friends said that while he was pretty amazing before he joined Boca, his recent form isn’t all that good. Idk, this seems like the same disease diagnosed on Guaro, Ex-cap’n, and several other players….
Guarin looks like a top class midfielder on youtube.
On YouTube this is the only video you can check a bit of his overall play: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QRdw-GwvyDc
From that video he looks like a team player with quite good technique and nice finishing. Doesn´t really dazzle, but he seems okay. I guess he fits the profile that the team is looking for. Just have to trust our scouts, Ausilio and Mancini…
my friend is a boca supporter and he said he aint good damn
my friend saw his game and he said he’s good
hopfully
Hope that this is true as we definitely need another target man to compete with Icardi (hopefully not to replace him)
