Italy striker Mateo Retegui’s agent is expected to arrive in Europe in 10 days to decide on the player’s future amid links to Inter Milan and AC Milan.
This according to Italian media outlet FcInterNews, who report that the player’s father who is also his agent, is expected to make a tour of Italy and Spain to get a better idea of which clubs are seriously interested in him.
As of today, the itinerary of the trip is yet to be fully decided in the sense that all meetings currently scheduled could be cancelled or confirmed, other than that there will be two stops, one in Italy and one in Spain.
Inter Milan have been heavily linked with a move for the Tigre loanee who scored in both of his two debut matches for Italy against England and Malta respectively in the Euro 2024 qualifiers a few weeks ago.
Some reports in Italy claimed the Nerazzurri have already met with Retegui’s father and agent, Carlos a couple of weeks ago.
Interest Rife In Retegui All Over Europe
The Nerazzurri are not the only Serie A club linked with Retegui, with reports claiming cross town rivals AC Milan are also very keen on the player.
Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio have also been linked to the Boca Juniors owned striker, who with his two goals for Italy, became the first player since Pierino Prati in 1968 to score in his two first competitive matches for the Azzurri.
Other clubs who have recently been linked with a move for the 23 year old striker include Serie A outfit Atalanta as well as La Liga outfit Atletico Madrid.
Retegui joined Tigre on loan in February 2022 from Boca Juniors until the end of December 2023 with an option to buy 50% of the rights to the player for €2.1 million.
According to reports Tigre also get final say on where to sell the player as well as for how much.
