Antonio Conte has everyone rowing in the same direction at Inter now, at least according to the Nerazzurri’s former striker Antonio Cassano.

Inter are top of Serie A with 23 games played and opened up a four-point gap over AC Milan with a 3-0 win in Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina.

Conte’s side are on course to break all sorts of goal-scoring records and have become most people’s favourites to win the Scudetto.

Speaking with ex-Inter forward Christian Vieri on his Twitch channel, Bobo TV, Cassano said: “Antonio has created a perfect machine, everyone is rowing in the same direction.

“I was the first person to criticise Conte this season but you need to give him credit.

“He signed Arturo Vidal, who used to be a great player in my opinion, but now he has put him to one side and is winning games with Christian Eriksen in the team.

“Eriksen is giving Inter lots of quality and now you have Ivan Perisic playing at left wing-back.

“Beppe Marotta was crazy to say Eriksen wasn’t part of Inter’s project, do we realise this?”

Inter legend Beppe Bergomi believes Eriksen and Perisic have given Conte’s side ‘a new dimension’ with their upturn in form, with a report in Tuesday’s papers arguing the pair were like ‘February signings’.

Cassano, who played for Inter during the 2012-13 season, then reflected on the Nerazzurri’s dominant display in last weekend’s Milan derby.

“Inter played a great game, I saw them as more or less balanced in the first half,” he added.

“In the second half there were four minutes where Samir Handanovic pulled off three miracles, then at 2-0 the game was over.”

During his stint with Inter, Cassano made 39 appearances across all competitions, in which time he scored nine goals and provided 15 assists.
