Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez are perfect strike partners, as explained by Inter’s former forward Aldo Serena today.

Lukaku and Lautaro have formed a formidable partnership over the past 18 months, scoring a combined 38 goals for the Nerazzurri in all competitions this season.

Most people believe Lukaku to be Inter’s best forward in every aspect, but Serena highlighted one aspect today where El Toro is arguably superior to the Belgian.

“They are players who both have technique and physique,” Serena remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

“Lautaro is better when it comes to aerial play but Lukaku has powerful runs and can help in giving assists by moving towards the wing.

“They help each other out a lot.”

Serena, who played for Inter for 11 years over two spells, then cast his mind back to Inter’s treble winning strike force of Diego Milito and Samuel Eto’o.

“Diego Milito knew how to make his mark, he knew how to score and let his teammates play.

“Jose Mourinho’s masterpiece was making Eto’o understand that playing out on the wing could be the ideal one for him.”

Lukaku reportedly has interest from Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain at the moment, but the 27-year-old has no intention of leaving Inter anytime soon.

Another news outlet today argued that Lautaro had taken his Inter career to the next level with his performance in Sunday’s derby win against AC Milan.

Inter are in any case thought to be scouring the market for new forwards, with a report in Spain earlier suggesting they could be in for Sevilla’s Youssef En-Nesyri.
