Antonio Conte has every intention of staying on as Inter’s head coach, according to a report in the Italian media today.

Il Giorno’s print edition confirmed that while Conte had asked for clarity form Inter’s owners Suning in order to stay, he would like to complete a third season in charge of the Nerazzurri.

Conte is out of contract in 2022 along with most of Inter’s management, including Beppe Marotta, Piero Ausilio and Dario Baccin.

Marotta is said to be of the same view as Conte, intending to remain at the club so long as Inter president Steven Zhang offers reassurance over the future.

Zhang is widely expected to return to Milan tomorrow or on Friday, at which point Conte and Inter’s directors will arrange talks to discuss Suning’s plans moving forward.

A report elsewhere today claimed Inter had no plan of selling any key players in the summer, although other sources suggested they could sacrifice the likes of Lautaro Martinez or Christian Eriksen.
