Paris Saint-Germain are closely following the contract talks between Inter and defender Alessandro Bastoni.

This according to Italian news outlet FCInterNews, who report that the Parisians are keen on signing the 23-year-old, and would likely be ready to make an offer this summer should he not extend his deal with the Nerazzurri before the start of the transfer window.

PSG are already poised to sign one Inter defender in the summer, as the French champions have a pre-contract agreement with Milan Skriniar for when the Slovakian’s current contract runs out at the end of June.

However, the Parisians may not stop there.

According to FCIN, Bastoni is also a player on PSG’s radar.

The 23-year-old is a player who Inter are currently working to try and agree a new contract, as they have no intention of having him go into next season still seeing out his current deal which expires at the end of June 2024.

Reports have suggested that Bastoni is very keen to extend his deal, whilst the player’s agent has confirmed that this is the case despite the interest of a number of clubs in his signature.

Gianluca Di Marzio has predicted that an agreement could be found at around €6 million net per season as the negotiations between Bastoni and Inter continue.

However, there is still distance between the parties in negotiations, and so at this stage it is far from certain that Bastoni will agree an extension of his contract past the end of next season.

Reports have indeed suggested that there is a real risk of the Nerazzurri losing Bastoni in the summer, as the club would prefer to sell him for a fee than keep hold of him should he not extend his deal.

It is this that PSG are hoping for, as the Parisians consider the 23-year-old to be a target.

According to FCIN, it is likely that an offer would arrive from the French capital should Bastoni not sign a new deal before the transfer window opens.
