Inter Milan are in pole position to sign Club Brugge’s €12 million rated Canadian international wingback Tajon Buchanan this summer.

This according to a report in Italian media outlet FcInterNews, who adds that a move for Buchanon hinges on Inter offloading Dutch international wing-back Denzel Dumfries.

Tajon Buchanan is valued at around €12-13 million and Inter are confident they can sign him with an offer of €10 million in cash with add-ons on top to bring the overall value of the transfer to meet Club Brugge’s asking price.

It is reported further that Buchanon would agree to a contract worth around €1.5 million net per season, allowing Inter to lower the overall wage bill of the squad, should Dumfries be sold and be replaced by the Canadian international.

The Candian international’s ability to play both as a winger as well as a wing-back on both the right and left hand side, are aspects which have really caught the eyes of Inter Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and his right-hand man, Dario Baccin.

So far no official offers have been presented but Inter’s directors have already seen Buchanan play three times, according to the report, as well as having met with his agent and are also in constant contacts with an intermediary.

Transfer Can Happen On One Condition

However, the Nerazzurri can only complete this transfer by offloading Dutch international wing-back Denzel Dumfries for a sum of no less than €25-30 million, the report continues.

Denzel Dumfries has long been linked with a move away from Italy and Serie A but so far no club has made an official move for him but Inter are believed to be keen to offload him this summer.

The Dutchman joined Inter in the summer of 2021 from PSV Eindhoven for a reported fee of €12.5 million and has since then featured 81 times to date, scoring seven goals in the process.
