Lazio coach Maurizio Sarri could ask for Inter youngsters Giovanni Fabbian or Mattia Zanotti as part of Francesco Acerbi talks.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Lazio coach Sarri is aiming to reinforce with young players this summer. He is particularly eyeing up a couple of players who have come through Inter’s academy.

One is Fabbian. The 20-year-old has been in outstanding form on loan with Reggina this season.

Fabbian has been considered to be one of the jewels of Inter’s academy for some time. Last season he was a standout player for the Nerazzurri’s Primavera side as they won the Under-19 Scudetto.

In his first season within senior football, Fabbian has been proving up to the required level.

This has attracted no shortage of transfer interest in the young Inter midfielder.

Atalanta are reportedly admirers of the 20-year-old. Inter could offer Fabbian as part of a cash-plus-player deal for La Dea defender Giorgio Scalvini.

Meanwhile, some reports have also emerged that Fabbian could already be brought back into the Nerazzurri’s first team. The young midfielder could be seen as ready to replace Roberto Gagliardini in the squad.

Meanwhile, young wingback Mattia Zanotti has been shining for Italy at the Under-20 World Cup.

Lazio Want Inter Midfielder Fabbian – Could Use Acerbi To Get Him

Defender Acerbi is currently on loan at Inter, but only until the end of next month.

Then, the 35-year-old will go back to Lazio. The Nerazzurri will likely be keen to bring Acerbi back, particularly if Simone Inzaghi remains coach.

However, if Inter don’t want to pay the €4 million purchase option in Acerbi’s loan deal then signing the former Sassuolo defender may prove difficult.

As such, Lazio could use Inter’s desire to keep Acerbi on a permanent basis as leverage to get Fabbian.
