Bayern Munich are ready to rival Inter Milan for the signature of Chelsea defender Kalidou Koulibaly this summer.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported on his homepage that Chelsea don’t want to loan the 31-year-old, and that this could allow Bayern to overtake the Nerazzurri in the race to sign him.

According to Di Marzio, Inter asked Chelsea about the possibility of signing Koulibaly on loan today.

The Blues’ initial response was negative. The Londoners could allow the Senegalese former Napoli man to leave in the summer.

However, they would want to sell him on a permanent basis. Chelsea do not want to let Koulibaly leave for free.

Bayern Munich Rival Inter Milan For Chelsea Defender Kalidou Koulibaly

According to Di Marzio, Bayern are one of the other clubs keen to sign Koulibaly this summer.

Thomas Tuchel’s side want to make defensive reinforcements ahead of next season. The Senegalese international is one of their targets.

If Inter are unable to convince Chelsea to let Koulibaly leave on loan, they are unable to be able to afford a move.

Accordingly, Chelsea’s reluctance to allow the 31-year-old to leave except in a permanent sale could give the advantage to the German champions.

Koulibaly Key Defensive Target For Inter Milan This Summer

Inter are aiming to make defensive reinforcements in the summer.

Replacing Milan Skriniar is a priority, given that the Slovakian will leave to join Paris Saint-Germain.

In this sense, Koulibaly would represent a lot of experience and proven quality in the Italian top flight, in spite of his underwhelming stint at Stamford Bridge.

Moreover, the futures of all of Stefan de Vrij, Francesco Acerbi, and Danilo D’Ambrosio are also up in the air.

Therefore, Koulibaly would represent an important potential signing for the Nerazzurri.

Koulibaly, who made over three-hundred appearances for Napoli, played 32 times for Chelsea in all competitions last season.

He has also earned seventy caps for the Senegalese national team.

Koulibaly has reportedly turned down a massive money from Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad.
