Inter Milan are considering Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Chelsea’s Ruben Loftus-Cheek as alternative targets to Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who name the pair as the Nerazzurri’s other main targets in midfield as they push to try and sign Frattesi from the Neroverdi.

Inter’s season has only just ended. However, the Nerazzurri are not wasting any time in planning for next campaign.

Yesterday the club held a meeting to discuss their transfer strategy for next season.

Midfield targets were a key topic of discussion. Frattesi was established as a top target to strengthen in central areas.

Following the club meeting, Inter’s directors met with their Sassuolo counterparts to discuss a possible transfer.

However, the Neroverdi midfielder is not the only player Inter are targeting in the position.

Inter Looking At Milinkovic-Savic & Loftus-Cheek In Addition To Frattesi

One player who Inter would certainly like to sign is Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

Simone Inzaghi wants a reunion with the former Genk midfielder, whom he coached for more than five seasons at Lazio.

Milinkovic-Savic will not come cheap. However, the Nerazzurri know that Lazio will be willing to part ways with their star man.

This is because the Serbian international’s contract with the Biancocelesti expires at the end of next June. Considering he isn’t planning to extend his deal, this is Lazio’s last chance to cash in for a fee.

Meanwhile, another possible target in midfield is Chelsea’s Loftus-Cheek.

Inter are set for a round of transfer talks with the Blues in the coming days. There will be numerous names on the table for potential moves between the two clubs.

27-year-old midfielder Loftus-Cheek could be one of them. The Nerazzurri have targeted the Chelsea man in the past, and he is on their radar for if they don’t sign Frattesi.
