Inter Milan ultras group the Curva Nord have made their stance clear on midfielder Nicolo Barella amid Chelsea and Newcastle United transfer rumours – he’s “untouchable.”

Putting forward their position in a brief but emphatic statement on their Instagram story, via FCInterNews, the Nord respond to recent reports that big clubs from the Premier League are hoping to sign the 26-year-old.

In the last week, reports have linked some Premier League clubs with interest in Barella.

This is hardly the first time that’s been the case. Liverpool, Manchester United, and Manchester City have all been reported to be fans of the ex-Cagliari midfielder in the past.

This time around it’s Newcastle and Chelsea in particular who are ready to chase the Inter superstar.

In the case of Newcastle, the Magpies could see Barella as the perfect addition to bring their squad up to the Champions League level.

The 26-year-old was a key man in Inter’s run to this season’s final. With Newcastle back in Europe’s top club competition.

Meanwhile, Chelsea are aiming to get back to European competition after a disastrous season in the Premier League.

Curva Nord: Barella Can’t Be Sold To Chelsea Or Newcastle

So far, reports have indicated that Inter have no interest in selling Barella.

The Nerazzurri would only potentially entertain a truly massive money offer for the 26-year-old. And even then, they would only be very reluctant to part ways with a player who’s so central to the team.

That perhaps won’t stop Chelsea or Newcastle from trying, however.

Moreover, other European giants could well join the race for Barella’s signature.

Inter fans will be used to seeing top players leave during the summer window after the past couple windows. Accordingly, the Nord have felt the need to weigh in to make their stance abundantly clear.

They wrote of Barella, “He’s a born Interista. Our present and future. Untouchable.”
