Inter Milan are close to extending the contracts of defenders Stefan de Vrij and Alessandro Bastoni, and midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who also report that the Nerazzurri could say goodbye to two veterans at the end of their own contracts, in the form of captain Samir Handanovic and defender Danilo D’Ambrosio.

With the season over, Inter are now starting to take care of some squad housekeeping.

One the main objectives that the club has is to wrap up some contract extensions.

De Vrij, Bastoni & Calhanoglu To Sign New Contracts With Inter Milan

One player whose deal the Nerazzurri are ready to extend is 31-year-old former Lazio defender de Vrij. Reportedly, the Dutchman will turn down a big money offer from Saudi side Al-Shabab to sign a new contract.

De Vrij will extend his Inter contract rather than leaving on a free transfer for next season.

According to Sky, it is only a matter of agreeing a few final details and then putting pen to paper.

Meanwhile, neither Bastoni nor Calhanoglu are coming to the end of their deals as de Vrij is. Both still have a year left on their contracts, which run out at the end of next June.

However, Inter have made securing the duo’s futures a major priority for some time.

According to Sky, only the final announcement is missing for both Bastoni’s and Calhanoglu’s extensions. The pair have agreed new deals for some time.

Veteran Pair Handanovic & D’Ambrosio Could Say Goodbye

Meanwhile, the situation is different for experienced duo Handanovic and D’Ambrosio. Both of the pair see their current contracts run out at the end of this month.

Captain Handanovic is no longer first-choice in goal, with Andre Onana having displaced him in the starting eleven.

According to Sky, the Slovenian has a good chance of leaving on a free transfer.

Meanwhile, the same is also the case for veteran defender D’Ambrosio.

Monza are reportedly keen on signing the 35-year-old former Torino defender.
