Inter Milan defender Stefan de Vrij ready to reject a huge money offer from Saudi Pro League club Al-Shabab to stay at Inter Milan.

This according to French news outlet FootMercato, via FCInter1908. The outlet report that 31-year-old former Lazio defender de Vrij will turn down Al-Shabab and sign a new deal at Inter.

De Vrij’s current contract with Inter runs out at the end of this month.

The Dutchman would therefore be able to leave on a free transfer were he to decide not to sign a new deal.

Were de Vrij to decide not to accept an offer from Inter and leave on a free transfer, Villarreal have been strongly linked as a destination.

Meanwhile, Premier League giants Manchester United have been linked with the Dutchman. Two other English teams have also reportedly shown interest, in the form of Aston Villa and Leicester City.

French team Marseille have also come forward with interest.

However, it looks clear that de Vrij will instead decide to remain at his current club.

De Vrij To Reject Al-Shabab & Stay At Inter Milan

Clubs in Europe are far from de Vrij’s only suitors.

According to FootMarcato, Al-Shabab have put forwards a massive money offer to the former Lazio and Feyenoord man.

Teams from the Saudi Pro League have been embarking on a summer of lavish spending. Their aim is to bring a number of big names from Europe to Saudi Arabia as part of an ambitious project.

De Vrij is one player who Al-Shabab felt they had an opportunity to sign.

The former Biancocelesti defender’s contract situation clearly suggested to the Saudi club that he could be attainable.

However, FootMercato report, de Vrij has other ideas.

The Dutchman is keen to stay at Inter Milan. He will sign a new contract in the coming days.
