Striker Romelu Lukaku is ready to give Chelsea a clear deadline as to when he wants them to agree a new loan deal with Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 30-year-old wants to make sure that he’s part of the Nerazzurri squad for their upcoming preseason tour of Japan.

Reportedly, Lukaku is annoyed that Chelsea are stalling in negotiations with Inter.

The Blues aren’t too keen to agree another low-cost loan move to the Nerazzurri.

For fairly obviously reasons, the Londoners would rather cash in with a permanent sale. As such, in the initial talks with Inter they haven’t given a green light to another loan to Inter, preferring to wait and see what other offers arrive.

However, the player concerned is of a different mind from his parent club. He wants Inter, and only Inter.

Therefore, the Belgian was annoyed as he felt that Chelsea tried to force through a move to the Saudi Pro League for him, against his wishes.

Moreover, Lukaku was frustrated that Chelsea put up an initial wall in their meeting with Inter. The Blues suggested a swap deal involving Nerazzurri midfielder Nicolo Barella rather than working with Inter on a new loan.

Both Lukaku and the Nerazzurri considered this an outrageous request. Lukaku wants Chelsea to simply get moving on a new loan.

Romelu Lukaku To Push For Chelsea To Agree New Inter Loan

For their part, Chelsea want any loan to include a purchase obligation.

Given that Lukaku’s transfer fee from 2021 is still amortized in Chelsea’s budget at €45 million next summer, the Blues would not want the fee to be lower than that.

For their part, Inter would be willing to include a purchase option. However, the Nerazzurri don’t want an obligation.

They want the freedom to potentially negotiate a lower permanent fee in twelve months’ time. Particularly given Lukaku’s age.

In any event, Lukaku isn’t overly concerned with how Inter and Chelsea come to an agreement. He simply wants to make sure the two clubs find an arrangement.

Lukaku is determined to play in a Nerazzurri shirt next season.

Moreover, Tuttosport report, the Belgian has a specific deadline in mind.

Inter are preparing for a preseason tour of Japan this summer. Lukaku wants to make sure that he is part of the squad for that tour.
