Italian journalist Luca Marchetti has confirmed that Simone Inzaghi is pushing to bring Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to Inter Milan.

Speaking to Italian broadcaster TMW Radio, via FCInterNews, Marchetti also updated that despite rumours that Inter are closing in on the signing of Davide Frattesi, Sassuolo still haven’t closed the door on offers from any other clubs.

With the transfer window now in full swing, there could be a real game of musical chairs with some of Serie A’s top midfielders.

Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic is reportedly inching towards Al-Nassr. Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri will do everything to keep hold of Nicolo Barella amid Chelsea, Newcastle United, and Liverpool interest.

The Nerazzurri, meanwhile, are likely to sign a midfielder once Brozovic departs.

Lazio superstar Milinkovic-Savic is one possible arrival. The 28-year-old’s contract with the Biancocelesti expires next summer and his club want to cash in now.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri have been reportedly moving for Sassuolo star Frattesi.

However, Inter would face competition for both.

Juventus are reportedly also hot on the trails of Milinkovic-Savic. They see the Serb as a replacement if Adrien Rabiot leaves on a free transfer.

And for Frattesi, both the Bianconeri and Roma are reportedly also keen.

Marchetti: Inzaghi Wants Milinkovic-Savic, Inter Still Haven’t Closed For Frattesi

Italian journalist Marchetti has given an update on the situations surrounding both Milinkovic-Savic.

“Despite his having had a great season Rabiot hasn’t gotten the offers he’d hoped for,” he said. “This leaves Juventus with a glimmer of hope.”

“They’re certainly also looking at other midfielders,” he added. “For example Frattesi. Inter are in for him, but Sassuolo haven’t closed the door to any offers. Roma are also interested.”

“Then there’s Milinkovic-Savic’s situation,” he noted. “Lazio are asking for around €40 million, and then Juventus have players who they could offer in return who could interest them.”

“To date, no negotiations have been opened up,” Marchetti made clear. “Milinkovic’s agent is looking for solutions.”

“What’s certain is that we’ll be talking about Milinkovic-Savic,” he said. “Not just Juventus, Inter are also thinking about him, Inzaghi is pushing for him.”
