Italian journalist Francesco Balzani believes that Inter Milan lead the chase for Davide Frattesi but Roma are still in it.
Speaking to Italian news outlet Teladoiotokyo, via FCInter1908, Baldanzi gave his impression of the race for the Sassuolo midfielder’s signature.
The future of Sassuolo and Italy midfielder Frattesi looks to be a very hot topic for this summer in Serie A.
Inter want to sign the Azzurri star for next season. However, the Nerazzurri would have to beat Juventus, Roma, AC Milan, and Lazio to Frattesi’s signature.
Reportedly, Sassuolo have already held several rounds of talks with all of the Nerazzurri, the Biancocelesti, and the Giallorossi in the past few weeks, as well as with Frattesi’s agent, in order to work out where the player’s next step will be.
Clearly, a lot has come out about where Frattesi will go next season.
Inter are reportedly in a very strong position to sign the 23-year-old. The Nerazzurri are reportedly ready to move for him once they sell Marcelo Brozovic.
However, nothing has been done yet. Other teams could still there being an opportunity to move in before Inter can finalize a transfer of Frattesi.
Balzani: Inter Lead The Chase For Davide Frattesi But Roma Still Trying
From the perspective of journalist Balzani, Roma are a team who still have a chance of signing Frattesi.
The Giallorossi, possibly crucially, have a sell-on clause that would bring part of a fee for any sale of the 23-year-old their way.
Balzani explained that “For Frattesi, Inter are ahead, but it’s not true that Roma are out of negotiations.”
“Remember last summer as well, the Nerazzurri were also ahead for Dybala,” he noted.
“What the player says is worth everything and nothing at the same time,” Balzani said. “First he wants Roma, then if the Giallorossi hesitate again and Inter comes up with an offer, Frattesi doesn’t say no.”
“Roma were the first club to move for him, but now they have to hurry up. If they want him, they can still sign him.”
