AC Milan target Luka Romero is not a target for Inter Milan despite the Nerazzurri having met with his agent.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the meeting between Nerazzurri Sporting Director Piero Ausilio and the 18-year-old Lazio starlet’s agent was purely exploratory and not a sign of serious interest.

Yesterday a report emerged that Inter are thinking about a potential free opportunity in the form of Romero.

The Argentine youth international looks set to depart from the Stadio Olimpico in the summer. Lazio are unable to agree a new deal with the player and his representatives.

Reportedly a big part of the reason why concerns agent commissions. The Biancocelesti are not keen to pay significant commissions to Romero’s representatives in order to tie him down to a new deal.

Accordingly, the teenager will depart from the Italian capital on a free transfer summer.

Inter Not Too Keen On AC Milan Target Luka Romero

One team who are looking to sign Romero are Milan.

The Rossoneri feel that there is an opportunity to snap up a player with a lot of potential on a free transfer. They are reportedly in talks with the young Argentine’s representatives over a possible move.

However, yesterday’s report suggested that they could face competition from their city rivals.

Inter are already on the verge of winning one transfer battle with their city rivals Milan.

The Nerazzurri will reportedly seal a deal to sign Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram on a free transfer in the coming days. The Frenchman had also been a major target for the Rossoneri.

Furthermore, Inter are also pushing to sign Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi before Milan can get serious about him.

Accordingly, Ausilio’s meeting with Romero’s agent in London could suggest Inter causing their derby rivals to miss out on yet another target.

According to the Corriere, though, Ausilio and Inter do not consider Romero that serious a target. They are keeping tabs on the situation.

However, he is more a player that Inter are curious about and not someone they plan to move for.
