Al-Nassr could look to Lens midfielder Seko Fofana as an alternative if they’re unable to sign Inter Milan’s Marcelo Brozovic.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 28-year-old former Udinese man is the player who Al-Nassr have lined up in midfield who could cause them to lose patience with Brozovic.
Inter are aiming to complete a deal to sell Brozovic to Al-Nassr.
However, despite the Nerazzurri having accepted the Saudi Pro League club’s offer, the player has not green lit the move.
On the contrary, Brozovic has made clear to Al-Nassr that he won’t be accepting their offer yet. His demand of wages of €30 million net per season left little doubt.
Therefore, the status of the deal is in great doubt. Much will depend on whether Barcelona make a serious offer, as Brozovic would be interested in making the switch to the Camp Nou.
Al-Nassr Could Switch Focus To Seko Fofana If Brozovic Deal Stalls
Reportedly, Al-Nassr will send representatives to Croatia to meet with Brozovic face-to-face today.
The Saudi team want to clear the air. If the 30-year-old doesn’t have any intention of moving ahead with a deal right away, they could simply turn their focus elsewhere.
This is where Fofana would come in.
Al-Nassr are in talks with the Ivorian international midfielder’s club Lens. They want to sign Fofana away from the French Champions League new boys.
Bringing in a key player from one of Ligue 1’s surprise packages would certainly be a coup for the free-spending Al-Nassr.
And it would also put the deal for Brozovic in a lot of doubt. If Al-Nassr can wrap up a deal for Fofana, they may not wait around for the Croat.
This would particularly be a problem for Inter considering selling Brozovic is key to their move for Davide Frattesi.
