Inter Milan do not consider Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata a serious target as their real priority is sealing a deal for Romelu Lukaku.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who also report that there is little basis to rumours of shock Juventus interest in signing Chelsea striker Lukaku ahead of the Nerazzurri.

Inter have been doing everything they can to try and bring Lukaku back for next season.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has made clear that he considers securing the Belgian for next season a priority.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly preparing an offer to Chelsea of another loan move, but one containing a €30 million purchase obligation.

This could very well prove to be the key that unlocks the negotiations with the Premier League giants. So far, the Blues have firmly put up a wall in the face of all Inter’s offers.

Chelsea have made clear that they don’t want to loan Lukaku out again. They want to sell him once and for all.

Inter Milan Don’t Consider Atletico Madrid’s Morata A Serious Alternative To Lukaku

According to the Gazzetta, Inter’s only priority is bringing Lukaku back next season.

Accordingly, they are hardly even thinking about alternatives.

Atletico Madrid and former Juventus, Real Madrid, and Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata had been one name that came up as being on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist of possible backup targets if an agreement with Chelsea for Lukaku proves impossible.

However, the Gazzetta reports, that idea is far at the back of Inter’s mind.

Purported Juventus Interest In Romelu Lukaku Not Serious

Meanwhile, a shock report came out a couple days ago that Juventus could think about a surprise move for Lukaku.

The rumour, from UK media, suggested that the Bianconeri might want the Belgian as a replacement if Dusan Vlahovic leaves.

According to the Gazzetta, there is little substance to that.

Everyone is well aware that the player’s priority is Inter, and that’s the direction that negotiations are heading.
