Monza want to sign Inter Milan midfielder Roberto Gagliardini on a free transfer this summer.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reported live on air via FCInterNews that the Brianzoli have made the 29-yeaer-old a target for the upcoming season and that everything is in the hands of the player whose contract with the Nerazzurri is expiring.

Gagliardini will no longer be an Inter player in a few days.

The former Atalanta man’s contract with the Nerazzurri runs out at the end of this month.

It has long looked a foregone conclusion that Gagliardini will not sign an extension with Inter. His time with the club is done.

However, Gagliardini will not be short of offers now that he is available on a free transfer.

Salernitana, Sassuolo, Genoa, and Torino have all been reported to be keen on signing the Italian.

Meanwhile, outside of Italy, Nottingham Forest and Sevilla have shown an interest in signing Gagliardini.

Monza Want To Convince Inter Midfielder Roberto Gagliardini To Join This Summer

One club who have been tracking Gagliardini for some time are Monza.

The Lombard team want to build on their eleventh place finish in Serie A last season. The Nerazzurri midfielder is one of their targets to try and reinforce their squad to do so.

Given that Gagliardini will be available on a free transfer, everything will depend on whether or not Monza can convince the player.

They will not have to negotiate with Inter, but they can make their offer to the player.

In the coming days the Brianzoli plan to try and swoop in and sign Gagliardini.

Gagliardini leaves Inter after six and a half seasons at the club. He joined the Nerazzurri from Atalanta in January of 2017.

The 29-year-old has made 261 appearances for Inter.
