Inter Milan have identified Atalanta’s Teun Koopmeiners and Udinese’s Lazar Samardzic as alternative targets to Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

At the moment, Sassuolo and Italy man Davide Frattesi is Inter’s primary target in midfield.

This has been the case for some time.

With the sale of Marcelo Brozovic to Al-Nassr all but done, the Nerazzurri are trying to complete a deal for the 23-year-old. They are offering the Neroverdi around €25 million plus Samuele Mulattieri.

This is getting Inter close to signing Frattesi. However, nothing is done yet, and Inter still know that they could miss out on Frattesi if they don’t go high enough in their offer.

Accordingly, the Corriere report, Inter are working on some other possible signings to reinforce the midfield for next season.

Inter Line Up Koopmeiners & Samardzic As Frattesi Alternatives

One player who has come onto Inter’s radar is Dutch international Koopmeiners.

The 25-year-old has just come off the back of an outstanding campaign in Serie A for La Dea. He scored ten goals and made four assists across 33 appearances in Italian top flight.

This was Koopmeiners’s second season at Atalanta after having joined from AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2021.

According to the Corriere, Koopmeiners is one of the top names on Inter’s shortlist of possible targets should they miss out on Frattesi.

Meanwhile, another young player who just had a very eye-catching season in Serie A is Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic.

The 21-year-old former RB Leipzig star scored five goals and assisted four across 35 appearances in the league.

Accordingly, the Nerazzurri have also sat up and taken notice of Samardzic.

The midfielder’s exploits for the Friulani have also earned him senior international call-ups. Having represented Germany at various youth team levels, Samardzivc has chosen Serbia’s senior team, for whom he has made two appearances now.
