The President of Frosinone admits he’d like to keep striker Samuele Mulattieri, but that Inter Milan have other ideas.

Speaking outside the official assembly of the Lega Serie A, as reported by FCInter1908, Frosinone’s President Maurizio Stirpe gave his thoughts on the 22-year-old striker.

Mulattieri spent last season on loan with Frosinone.

This proved to be perhaps his most successful season yet within senior football. The Nerazzurri striker had spent seasons with Volendam and then Crotone.

However, it was last season when the 22-year-old really showed what he can do.

Mulattieri played a key role in firing Frosinone to promotion to Serie A.

The Lazio-based side reportedly had a purchase option to sign the Italian Under-21 international from Inter. And it is no surprise that they would have done so.

However, the Nerazzurri had a buyback option.

Inter decided to utilize this clause. This is because Mulattieri’s value has seemingly already gone up compared to where it was at twelve months ago.

Moreover, the Nerazzurri have a specific intention for Mulattieri this summer. They have offered him to Sassuolo as part of a deal for young midfielder Davide Frattesi.

Moreover, the Neroverdi reportedly want to sign Mulattierri whether or not Frattesi goes the other way to Inter.

Frosinone President Doesn’t Expect To Keep Samuele Mulattieri As Inter Bring Him back

Therefore, there would be little hope of Frosinone keeping hold of Mulattieri.

The 22-year-old would certainly have given the newly-promoted side some continuity from last season. His performances helped them become champions of the Italian second division, and now they’ll have to try and replicate them with a different striker.

However, everything is ultimately up to Inter, who have always had control of Mulattieri’s future.

Accordingly, Frosinone President Stirpe is not expecting to keep the player.

Asked about the prospects of keeping hold of Mulattieri, Stripe replied. “I’d like to keep him. But I think Inter have other ideas for him.”
