Inter Milan are considering a move to sign midfielder Roberto Pereyra on a free transfer.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that the Nerazzurri have been offered the 32-year-old and that they are thinking about signing him to replace Roberto Gagliardini for next season.

Former Juventus and Watford midfielder Pereyra’s contract has run out with Udinese. His deal expired at the end of last month.

As things stand, it’s not certain how he’ll move forward. If the 32-year-old does not sign an extension with the Friulani, he can join another club on a free transfer this summer.

Inter are among the clubs to have been linked with Pereyra.

Whilst they would hardly regard the Argentine as a replacement for Marcelo Brozovic, the Croat is not the only midfielder they have to replace this summer.

Roberto Gagliardini has also left the club. Accordingly, the Nerazzurri will either have to replace the 29-year-old. Otherwise they would head into next season with only five senior midfielders.

Inter Milan Thinking About Move For Roberto Pereyra

Whilst Inter are already on the verge of signing one midfielder in the form of Davide Frattesi, they will still have to sign another.

And, given that Gagliardini has left on a free transfer, the Nerazzurri will likely go for a low-cost option.

In this respect, a player like Pereyra could present an ideal solution. The Argentine has plenty of experience in the Italian top flight, and would arrive without a transfer fee.

According to Di Marzio, Pereyra’s agents have offered them the chance to sign the 32-year-old. And, he explains, they are seriously thinking about it.

After wrapping up the expected signing of Frattesi, Inter may not wait long to make their next midfield signing.

Pereyra could be the player they sign to complete the midfield options for next season.
