Inter Milan want to sign Leeds United forward Willy Gnonto, but must sell Joaquin Correa first.

This according to SportItalia transfer market expert Alfredo Pedulla, who reported live on air via FCInter1908 that the Nerazzurri are keen to sign the 19-year-old as a replacement for Correa, but that they must first find a solution for the Argentine and then beat the competition to his signature.

Joaquin Correa has longs looked very likely to leave Inter during the summer transfer window.

Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi and the club directors all agree that it’s time for the 28-year-old to go.

Inzaghi has been Correa’s main sponsor at the San Siro for some time. It was the coach who brought the forward to Inter from Lazio in the summer of 2021.

However, the player has never really recaptured his form from Lazio, with injuries playing a major role.

West Ham United and Everton are reportedly interested in signing Correa. Meanwhile, the Correa has already rejected a move to Fenerbahce.

If Inter do manage to offload Correa this summer, they’re keen to sign a player they’re very familiar with already.

Italy international Gnonto should be available from relegated Leeds. And Inter are keen to bring the 19-year-old back to the club.

Inter Milan Want Leeds Star Willy Gnonto To Replace Joaquin Correa

According to Pedulla, Gnonto is one of the main names on Inter’s shortlist of possible replacements for Correa.

The Italian came through the Nerazzurri’s youth ranks. However, he left to join FC Zurich in 2020, in search of playing time.

Inter would like to bring the fully-fledge Gnonto back if Correa departs, however. The player himself has admitted that returning and playing for Inter would be a “dream” for him.

It won’t be easy to find a new club for Correa, however.

Moreover, Inter will have to do so quickly enough to beat the competition of several other interested clubs to Gnonto’s signature.

Pedulla reports that Aston Villa, Everton, and Freiburg are all keen on signing the 19-year-old.
