Atalanta want a fee of €15-18 million to sell Inter Milan target Merih Demiral this summer.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Bergamasque club are bracing for an exit for the out-of-favour defender but that they still want to cash in.

Demiral is a player who has come onto Inter’s radar in a big way over the past week or so.

And key to the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of the Turkish international could be his unsettled situation at his current club Atalanta.

Demiral is still under contract with Atalanta until the end of June 2026. However, by all reports, neither he nor his club have any intention of keeping the relationship alive anywhere near that long.

The former Bianconeri star has reportedly fallen out with La Dea coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

The Gazzetta note that La Dea are getting close to completing the signing of defender Isak Hien from Hellas Verona. The Swede is the player who they want to be the linchpin of their defense.

And Hien would come in to the squad to replace Demiral.

With the 25-year-old former Juventus and Sassuolo man surplus to requirements, there is even less doubt that he’ll leave this summer.

Atalanta Still Want To Cash In On Inter Milan Target Merih Demiral

According to the Gazzetta, none of this necessarily means that Inter will be able to make an advantageous deal to sign Demiral.

This is because of the determination of Atalanta to not suffer a capital loss on the Turkish international.

Atalanta paid €20 million to sign Demiral on a permanent basis from Juventus last summer. Therefore, they would aim to sell the 25-year-old for €15-18 million this summer, avoiding a capital loss.

The Gazzetta confirm that there is interest in signing Demiral from clubs in his native Turkey.

However, they also report that the player has little interest in this possibility. He prefers a move to Inter.
