The agent of former Juventus and Sassuolo defender Merih Demiral confirms he’ll leave Atalanta, and that Inter Milan are a possibility.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the 25-year-old’s representative Furkan Yildrim has confirmed his exit from La Dea as a virtual certainty for this summer.

Demiral is a player who has come onto Inter’s radar in a big way over the past week or so.

And key to the Nerazzurri’s pursuit of the Turkish international could be his unsettled situation at his current club Atalanta.

Demiral is still under contract with Atalanta until the end of June 2026. However, by all reports, neither he nor his club have any intention of keeping the relationship alive anywhere near that long.

The former Bianconeri star has reportedly fallen out with La Dea coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Therefore, Demiral’s agent Yildrim made very clear that “Demiral willl leave Atalanta, 101%.”

He also added that “Inter are a concrete possibility.”

Merih Demiral Could Leave Atalanta To Join Inter Milan

Inter must find a replacement for Milan Skriniar who has left to join Paris Saint-Germain. The departure Danilo D’Ambrosio adds further urgency to the Nerazzurri’s casting call for a defensive signing.

A move for Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta fell through, leaving Inter back at square one.

Demiral had already been on the Nerazzurri’s radar as a possible Skriniar replacement in January.

The Turkish international would be a fairly natural like-for-like replacement in Skriniar’s position.

Demiral is familiar with playing in a back-three system due to his time playing under Gasperini. However, he has largely occupied the central position in the back three at the Gewiss Arena, rather than on the side of the defensive line.

Nevertheless, Inter quite evidently back the tough-tackling defender to make the adjustment as Skriniar had already done.
