Inter Milan are accelerating the process of moving for Shakhtar Donetsk goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin as the replacement for Andre Onana.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri are aiming to wrap up a deal with Shakhtar for a fee of around €10 million.

A deal between Inter and Manchester United to sell Onana now looks close at hand.

The Red Devils have had a couple bids turned down for the Cameroonian. However, they have been swiftly raising their offer and could wrap up a deal to sign Onana by midway through next week.

The 21-year-old Ukrainian international is a young profile with room to grow, but also has significant international and Champions League experience despite his young age.

According to the Corriere, Inter have already been moving along in talks with both Shakhtar and with Trubin’s representative.

Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta met with agent and intermediary Edoardo Crnjar a few days ago. This was an important development.

Inter Milan Won’t Wait Around To Sign Trubin As Replacement For Onana

Accordingly, Inter want to secure a deal for Trubin as soon as possible now that Onana looks to have one foot out the door.

The Nerazzurri’s offer to Shakhtar for the Ukrainian stands at around €10 million. Meanwhile, Trubin’s club are holding out for €15 million.

However, the Corriere report, the clubs should be able to work out an agreement between those two figures. And Inter may not have to raise their offer too much.

Trubin being out of contract with Shakhtar next June could prove to be a decisive factor.

Meanwhile, the Corriere confirm that Bayern Munich’s Yann Sommer is Inter’s preferred replacement for captain Samir Handanovic.

And, to replace Al-Nassr-bound Alex Cordaz the Nerazzurri want to bring back Raffaele Di Gennaro from Serie C club Gubbio.
