Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is willing to cut his wages to return to Inter Milan, and would have no chance of joining Juventus.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that despite rumours of Bianconeri interest in the 30-year-old, he is still pushing to go back to Inter who are working to make the deal happen.

Lukaku has always made his will clear – he wants to go back to Inter.

However, the Nerazzurri have struggled to convince Chelsea to shake hands on a deal to bring the Belgian back.

The Blues have firmly rejected any offers of another loan deal, which had been Inter’s strategy. Therefore, the Nerazzurri have changed their approach – they are now ready to offer a cash fee for Lukaku.

However, the Londoners have continued to hold out for €45 million to date. This has been more than Inter are willing to offer.

Some reports suggest that Inter’s failure to complete a deal for Lukaku has left the door open for Juventus to make a shock move for the striker.

Romelu Lukaku Only Wants Inter – No Chance Of Juventus

According to the Gazzetta, however, the player himself is only interested in going back to Inter.

The 30-year-old’s stance is the same as ever – he is waiting for Inter and Chelsea to agree a deal.

Moreover, the Gazzetta report, Lukaku has indicated a strong willingness to reduce his wages to go back to Inter next season.

Last season, the Belgian had earned €8.5 million net per season plus add-ons. This had been a big reduction from his wages at Chelsea, but he’ll accept a further cut happily to make sure he is a Nerazzurri player next season.

In any event, it remains for Inter to convince Chelsea on a deal.

Inter have put €30 million on the plate so far. This is still some way from meeting Chelsea’s demands.

However, the Gazzetta suggests, the inclusion of add-ons in the deal could be decisive for a deal.

The Nerazzurri’s offer could climb to nearly €40 million with add-ons. This could finally be enough to complete the deal and bring Lukaku back from Chelsea.
