Romelu Lukaku has been in talks with Juventus since March despite Inter Milan links, according to Italian media.

Today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, continue to insist on the link between the Bianconeri and Lukaku, suggesting that there is an ongoing thread between the striker and club that could yet see him make the shock move.

In recent days, Rome-based newspaper the Corriere has defied the trend in reporting about Lukaku.

Whilst virtually all other reporting on the Belgian has reached the consensus that the 30-year-old only wants Inter, the Rome-based newspaper has continued down the path of linking the player with Juventus.

And, they report, these links are not new.

The Corriere report that the Bianconeri already made their approach to Lukaku and his representatives in March.

The Turin giants registered their interest even long before last season ended, the report claims. And, crucially, they suggest that Lukaku never dismissed Juventus out of hand.

Romelu Lukaku Could Say Yes To Juventus, Claims Italian Media

The Corriere go on attack mode in today’s print edition – they argue that other outlets are ignoring the links between Lukaku and Juventus like an “inconvenient truth.”

Whilst the consensus has focused on Lukaku’s loyalty to Inter, the Corriere see it otherwise.

They argue that the Belgian wants to sort his future out, and could lose patience with Inter. If the Nerazzurri can’t find an agreement with Chelsea, he would therefore be willing to give a hearing to the offer of Juventus.

In the Corriere’s view, it would be correct to say that the Bianconeri and Inter have a transfer battle on their hands.

The newspaper argues that everything could come down to whether Inter sell Andre Onana or Juventus sell Dusan Vlahovic first.

In this sense, the Nerazzurri do lead the race. They look on the verge of selling the Cameroonian to Manchester United, which would give them the cash on hand to finally fund the decisive move for Onana.
