Lawyer Sebastien Ledure looks to be playing a big role in the Romelu Lukaku transfer battle between Inter Milan and Juventus.

This is highlighted in today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

The Lukaku transfer saga has taken a dramatic turn in the past 24 hours or so.

After weeks of negotiations between Inter and Chelsea, an agreement has been reached on a deal to send the Belgian back to the Giuseppe Meazza.

This would have seemed to be the end of it. The Nerazzurri have gotten their man.

However, the player concerned failed to give the go-ahead to the deal, going AWOL with both Inter and Chelsea.

Reports then revealed that ongoing negotiations with Juventus appear to be at the heart of Lukaku’s stalling.

Ledure A Key Figure In Dramatic Inter-Juventus Tug-Of-War For Lukaku

The Gazzetta report that the lawyer representing the player has been a driving force in the situation reaching this unexpected stage.

The Belgian lawyer was the man who handled Lukaku’s surprise return to Inter from Chelsea on loan last summer.

And, according to the Gazzetta, he has also been right there behind the scenes negotiating with Juventus.

On the one hand, it had always appeared as though Lukaku only wanted one thing this summer – a return to Inter.

But on the other, it now looks clear that in the player’s camp, there were other ideas. Clearly the Belgian has been aware of interest from Lukaku.

And, the Gazzetta claims, this has all been through Ledure.

The newspaper suggests that the Belgian lawyer has been in active talks with not just the Bianconeri but also AC Milan. He has been the one pushing for Lukaku to keep his options open.

And, evidently, his influence has prompted a shock change of heart from the striker.

This is also not the first time that Ledure has been a key figure in a prominent situation involving Inter.

Ledure also represented defender Stefan de Vrij in legal proceedings against his former agency Sports Entertainment Group. These proceedings concerned the Dutchman’s move from Lazio to Inter on a free transnfer.
