Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun sits at the top of Inter Milan’s post-Romelu Lukaku striker shortlist.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, who report that the American international is the Nerazzurri’s top target although they are also considering Porto’s Mehdi Taremi and Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata.
Everything is now over between Inter and Lukaku.
After weeks of trying to get a deal done with Chelsea for the Belgian, the Nerazzurri have pulled the plug. The fact that Lukaku decided to negotiate with Juventus has meant that Inter will completely reject the possibility of bringing him back.
This means that the Nerazzurri now must consider alternatives to the 30-year-old.
Now, the Nerazzurri will have to consider their next move with Lukaku off the table. And according to Sky, Inter have a clear idea of who they want to go after.
Arsenal Striker Folarin Balogun The Focus Of Inter Milan’s Post-Lukaku Striker Search
22-year-old US international Balogun is a player who Inter see as having both the ability to make an immediate impact, and potential to grow in quality over subsequent seasons.
Therefore, Sky reports, the Arsenal striker has become Inter’s top target in attack.
Balogun will not come cheap after an outstanding season on loan with Reims. Arsenal will hold out for a significant fee to sell their young talent.
However, with Inter pulling the plug on a big money deal to sign Lukaku, they’ll have the funds available.
Meanwhile, Porto striker Mehdi Taremi is also on Inter’s list. The 30-year-old Iranian international sees his deal with Porto run out at the end of next June.
Taremi’s contract situation means that his club will certainly be willing to make a deal.
The Nerazzurri are interested in taking advantage, but so are their city rivals AC Milan.
Lastly, Sky also confirm that Inter are considering a move for ex-Juventus, Real Madrid, and Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid.
