Atletico Madrid’s Alvaro Morata and Arsenal’s Folarin Balogun are at the top of Inter Milan’s four-man striker shortlist.

This according to Sky Sport Italia transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports on his homepage that Udinese’s Beto and Porto’s Mehdi Taremi are also in the frame as the Nerazzurri accelerate their search for a new striker for the upcoming season.

Inter’s pursuit of Romelu Lukaku has now been dead in the water for a few days.

The Nerazzurri aren’t waiting around in their hunt for new targets, however.

Di Marzio confirm that Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is one of Inter’s leading candidates in their search for a striker.

The Spaniard has no shortage of Serie A experience after four years at Juventus.

However, Di Marzio reports, the Nerazzurri will only move for Morata if they can get him for cheaper than his €20 million release clause at Atletico. They don’t intend to pay that much.

On the other end of the experience spectrum, there is Arsenal and USMNT striker Folarin Balogun.

The 22-year-old isn’t a proven commodity in Serie A as Morata is. He would also cost significantly more than the Atletico striker.

However, Di Marzio reports, Inter believe that Balogun could make the adjustment. He is, along with Morata, their main target at striker.

Not Just Morta & Balogun – Inter Also Interested In Udinese & Porto Strikers

According to Di Marzio, there are two other strikers on Inter’s post-Lukaku shortlist.

One is Udinese striker Beto. The Portuguese is on the younger end, but has also looked very adept in Serie A over two seasons with the Friulani.

Di Marzio reports that Inter are seriously considering the 25-year-old.

And, in terms of an alternative to Morata among more experienced strikers, Di Marzio confirms Inter’s interest in Porto striker Mehdi Taremi.

Further back on Inter’s list, Di Marzio reports, is West Ham United striker Gianluca Scamacca.
