Alvaro Morata wants a move to Inter Milan, who will meet with the Spaniard’s agents today to explore the possibility.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, who report that the Nerazzurri will hold talks with the Atletico Madrid’s representatives today, whilst the player is inclined towards Inter due to their Champions League status.
Morata’s experience in Serie A makes the 30-year-old an attractive target for several big clubs in Italy.
Inter are among the teams tracking the Atletico striker.
Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi is reportedly an admirer, and has made the Spaniard the first choice in attack. This comes after Inter abruptly pulled the plug on talks to sign Romelu Lukaku.
Roma are also interested in bringing Morata back to Serie A. The Giallorossi have already met with the Spanish international’s agents yesterday.
Now it is Inter’s turn to hold talks with Morata’s representatives. The Gazzetta confirm that the meeting will be today, and that the Nerazzurri should have a much clearer idea of the situation afterwards.
Alvaro Morata Wants Inter Milan – Meeting Today
The Gazzetta underlines that much of the mystery about Morata’s situation concerns the release clause in his deal with Atletico.
Reports on the matter have conflicted somewhat. There is, by all account, a release clause worth €21 million in the 30-year-old’s current deal.
However, some reports have suggested that the clause could drop to €12 million. This would come after the player signs a new contract with the Spanish giants.
In any event, Inter want to clarify the matter.
Then, the Nerazzurri are ready to make their first formal offer to Atletico.
As far as the player is concerned, the Gazzetta report that Morata would be happy to accept a move to Inter.
The former Chelsea and Real Madrid man finds the Nerazzurri’s project convincing. Moreover, he would like to join a club in the Champions League.
