There is “minimal distance” between Inter Milan and West Ham United in talks over a transfer of striker Gianluca Scamacca.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, who report via FCInterNews that the two clubs could wrap up a deal for the transfer of the 24-year-old Italian international some time within the next few days.

Earlier today, Inter reportedly made their initial offer to West Ham for Scamacca.

The Nerazzurri are reportedly keen to beat the competition of Roma to the former Sassuolo striker’s signature.

Reportedly the Nerazzurri’s offer was worth around €22 million plus add-ons. UK media suggested that this was not high enough, an the Hammers rejected the bid.

However, the offer is not necessarily too far off from what West Ham will accept, Sky report.

The broadcaster suggest that there is “minimal distance” and anticipate that a deal could happen for around €25 million plus add-ons.

“Minimal Distance” Between Inter & West Ham In Scamacca Talks

According to Sky, the next few days could prove to be decisive for Scamacca’s future.

Given that the gap between the two clubs should not be overly difficult to bridge, Inter could work quickly to advance for Scamacca’s signature.

Therefore, it may not take the Nerazzurri long at all to complete a deal. They appear to have set their sights on Scamacca and decided to make the decisive move.

Roma are also pushing to sign Scamacca. However, the Giallorossi can only offer a loan bid initially.

Inter, on the other hand, do have money set aside to buy a striker for a straight cash fee. The Nerazzurri had been ready to invest a significant amount in a move for Romelu Lukaku.

Since that pursuit of Lukaku dramatically collapsed, Inter have looked at a number of options.

Folarin Balogun and Alvaro Morata have been on the Nerazzurri’s shortlist.

However, it now looks as though Scamacca could be the striker who Inter get a deal over the line for.
