Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Bento is ahead of Shakhtar Donetsk’s Anatoliy Trubin and Sampdoria’s Emil Audero on Inter Milan’s list of backup keepers for next season.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Inter are now on the verge of making one goalkeeping signing this summer.

Yann Sommer should complete the switch from Bayern Munich within the next day or two.

However, the Nerazzurri are not likely to stop there.

Whilst Sommer is the short-term replacement for Andre Onana, the Cameroonian is not the only keeper to have departed from the San Siro this summer.

Nerazzurri captain Samir Handanovic also left at the end of his contract.

This leaves Inter with another slot to fill in goal.

Bento Ahead Of Trubin & Audero To Be Inter Milan Backup Keeper

As the Gazzetta notes, Shakhtar Donetsk’s Trubin has looked for some time like Inter’s top target.

The Nerazzurri want to sign the 21-year-old to be Sommer’s understudy in the short term. Then, given the Ukrainian’s age, he could grow into the starting role in seasons to come.

Moreover, Trubin himself is reportedly keen on the switch.

Inter have already made significant inroads in talks with the player and his agent.

However, negotiations with Shakhtar have been a much different story.

Despite Inter’s hope that thew Ukrainian giants would accept a relatively low offer for Trubin given that his contract runs out at the end of next June, there has never been any indication that this might happen.

Instead, the Nerazzurri and Shakhtar are still miles apart on a fee for Trubin.

As such, Inter are also working on other possible moves. Paranaense keeper Bento is currently the player they are pushing to sign.

Finances could prove to be an obstacle there as well, however.

Paranaense reportedly want around €10 million for the 24-year-old. Moreover, the Brazilian club don’t have any great need to make a sale.

Therefore, also on Inter’s radar is Sampdoria keeper Audero.

The 26-year-old looks all but certain to depart from the Marassi this summer considering that the Blucerchiati will be playing in Serie B next season.

According to the Gazzetta, however, Inter are only seeking a loan of Audero.
