Inter Milan have reportedly dropped out of the race to sign Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun and will instead aim to sign both Marko Arnautovic and Mehdi Taremi.

The Nerazzurri are desperate to sign a couple of new strikers before the season kicks off on August 19.

But reaching agreements with other clubs is proving to be a daunting task for the Italian giants. In the latest twist of this ongoing saga, Inter have reportedly abandoned their pursuit of Folarin Balogun.

Italian journalist and transfer market expert Alfredo Pedullà broke the news on his official Twitter account this evening.

The journalist claims that the Beneamata have already communicated their decision to Arsenal.

This is major news considering that the 22-year-old was apparently topping Inter’s striker shortlist in recent days.

Moreover, the player himself was reportedly keen to make the switch to Appiano Gentile.

Nevertheless, the Nerazzurri find themselves incapable of satisfying The Gunners’ financial demands.

The North Londoners reportedly want 40 million pounds to part ways with the American. Monaco are now the favorites for his signature.

So instead of wasting additional time on this futile task, Inter will turn their attention to two other profiles.

Inter Milan Drop Out Of Balogun Race To Pursue Both Taremi & Arnautovic

As Pedullà explains, the Serie A giants want to sign both Taremi and Arnautovic. Therefore, the club will be looking to sell Joaquin Correa to make room for the two arrivals.

The journalist claims that the Austrian will be piling pressure on Bologna to force his return to the Giuseppe Meazza after 13 years of his initial spell at the club.

On the other hand, Inter will have to raise their offer to convince Porto of parting ways with the Iranian international striker.

The Italians reportedly saw their initial offer (worth 23 million euros) rejected.
