Monza CEO Adriano Galliani has confirmed that the transfer of wingback Carlos Augusto to Inter Milan is a “done deal.”

Speaking to Italian broadcaster SportItalia, the Brianzoli executive stated that Augusto made the choice to take his next steps with a team in the Champions League, and that he feels the player has earned the move.

Inter have certainly not wasted any time in signing wingback Augusto.

The Brazilian is set to arrive to replace Robin Gosens. The German’s move to Union Berlin now appears to be just as imminent as Augusto’s to Inter.

Today, Monza CEO Galliani visited Inter headquarters. The purpose of his visit was to wrap up the agreement with the Nerazzurri on Augusto’s transfer.

And confirmation of the deal has come straight from the horse’s mouth – Galliani makes no attempt to hide the deal.

Now, it looks as though Augusto should wrap up the formalities very soon.

The 24-year-old will still have to undergo his medicals and sign his contract to become an Inter player.

However, Galliani’s statements suggest that the Brazilian himself is keen. His switch to Inter should now only be a matter of time.

Galliani Confirms Agreement With Inter For Carlos Augusto

The Monza CEO stated that “It’s a done deal with Inter for Carlos Augusto.”

“It’s what the player wanted,” he continued. “He deserves it.”

Galliani also noted that “There were other teams interested as well. But he wanted to play in the Champions League.”

The likes of Juventus, Fiorentina, Atalanta, and Torino all reportedly came forward with an interest in signing Augusto this summer/

However, none of the quartet are in the Champions League.

Inter, by contrast, managed to secure qualification for Europe’s top club competition despite a nervy last few weeks of the campaign.

The Nerazzurri appeared in the final of last season’s edition of the competition.
